The Rutgers School of Law-Newark -- the oldest law school in New Jersey -- has a deeply rooted tradition of commitment to three defining elements: teaching, scholarship, and service. Our academic mission is to train graduates to become highly skilled, ethical lawyers, who will assume leadership roles in the legal profession and related disciplines. Rutgers-Newark alumnae/i historically have fulfilled that responsibility as practitioners, judges, legislators, public officials, and leaders in business.
