STUART
L. DEUTSCH, Dean and Professor of Law.
Dean Deutsch is responsible for the overall educational program and administration of the school. Much of his time and attention are devoted to liaison with the Newark Provost, the central University administration in New Brunswick, the Alumni Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association, and other key external groups and individuals. Dean Deutsch has been dean of Rutgers Law School-Newark since the summer of 1999. He received his J.D. from Yale Law School and his L.L.M. from Harvard Law School, where he was a Fellow in Law and the Humanities. Formerly a professor of law, co-director of the Program in Environmental and Energy Law, and founding director of the Institute for Science, Law and Technology at the Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology, he also served as interim dean in 1996-97, and as associate dean for academic affairs and associate dean for interdisciplinary programs. Dean Deutsch has also been a visiting faculty member at the University of Illinois College of Law; an associate professor at the University of Santa Clara School of Law, where he began his teaching career; and practiced law in New York City. His expertise is in the fields of environmental law, land use, and urban development. He is the author of Deutsch's Illinois Environmental Laws Annotated and for 18 years was co-editor of Land Use and Environmental Law Review. |

BERNARD W. BELL, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Faculty. Dean Bell is principally concerned with faculty-related matters and educational programming and planning: scheduling courses, planning first-semester tracks, assigning classrooms, and responding to requests for special course schedules and extensions of certain academic deadlines. Students may see him about curriculum, grading policies, and other matters affecting academic policies. He also administers, in cooperation with the other deans, the University Code of Student Conduct. |

GREGORY MARK, Associate Dean for Institutional Affairs. Dean Mark is responsible for long-range institutional planning, including developing new centers and programs. He also supervises the adjunct faculty, the Leiden program, and the Legal Research and Writing program. |

RONALD K. CHEN, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, on leave to serve as Public Advocate, State of New Jersey. Dean Chen joined the Rutgers faculty in 1987, and taught contracts, federal courts, constitutional law, and church-state relations. He was appointed Associate Dean in 1995, responsible for overall academic and curricular operations and policy. In addition to his teaching and law school administrator responsibilities, he was a supervisor in the Constitutional Litigation Clinic. Dean Chen received his his J.D. with high honors from Rutgers-Newark, where he was editor-in-chief of the Rutgers Law Review and the Saul Tischler Scholar. In January 2006 he was appointed New Jersey Public Advocate by Governor Jon Corzine and ceremonially sworn in by the Governor at the law school on March 27, 2006. As Commissioner of the Department of Public Advocate, he is leading the rebuilding of an executive branch agency whose mission is to provide "a voice to the voiceless." |

FRANCES V. BOUCHOUX, Associate Dean for Academic and Student Services. Dean Bouchoux oversees all administrative functions relating to students. She supervises the Assistant Deans for Admissions, the Minority Student Program, Career Services, Student Services and Academic Services, as well as the Financial Aid Manager. Dean Bouchoux is primarily responsible for establishing policies and procedures with respect to admissions and career services activities. Dean Bouchoux received her J.D. with high honors from Rutgers-Newark, where she was editor-in-chief of the Rutgers Computer and Technology Law Journal and the Saul Tischler Scholar. |

CAROL ROEHRENBECK, Associate Dean, Professor of Law, and Director of the Law Library. Dean Roehrenbeck is responsible for all library programs, services, and administration. She received her J.D. from Rutgers-Newark. |

MARIE MELITO, Associate Dean for Budget and Administration. Dean Melito is in charge of the law school's business affairs. She also supervises the disbursement of funds and maintains payroll and other financial records. She is assisted by FRANCINA SKIPPER, Acting Director of Administrative Services, who oversees personnel matters as well as purchasing and the day-to-day functioning of the physical plant. Dean Melito is a member of the board of directors of Providence Rest Nursing Home and of the Providence Rest Child Day Care, both in the Bronx, and a member of the International Who's Who of Professionals. |
| LINDA GARBACCIO, Assistant Dean for Academic Services. Dean Garbaccio serves as the Registrar of the law school and has primary responsibility for all academic record-keeping functions; she prepares registration materials and class rosters, records enrollment changes and grades, distributes examination numbers, certifies completion of degree and Bar requirements, and administers all non-take home examinations. She is responsible for course registration, grade recording, and student academic records. Dean Garbaccio received her B.S. from Rutgers. | |

ANDREW J. ROTHMAN, Senior Assistant Dean for Student Affairs. Dean Rothman is primarily responsible for student services, including but not limited to counseling, academic advisement, independent projects, and deferred examinations; non-academic student organizations; and orientation and graduation-related activities. In conjunction with Dean Bell, Dean Rothman is responsible for handling violations of the University Code of Student Conduct and handles questions about, or claims of, sexual or racial harassment. Students may, if they prefer, bring such questions or complaints to Associate Dean Bouchoux. He oversees the accommodations made by the law school for students with disabilities. He serves as the clearinghouse for information and services for individual students. In addition, he is responsible for administrative duties that include the submission of reports to University central administration and other outside groups and agencies. Dean Rothman is also an instructor in Professional Responsibility and New Jersey Practice. He received his J.D. from Rutgers-Newark. |

YVETTE BRAVO-WEBER, Assistant Dean for the Minority Student Program (MSP) and Externships. Dean Bravo-Weber is responsible for MSP orientation, the MSP summer internship program, and academic support program. She also is a member of the Admissions Committee and the MSP Committee, advises the Dean on minority legal issues, and serves as liaison to the minority bar associations and other external organizations. Dean Bravo-Weber also oversees the law school's externship programs, including judicial externships, immigration law externships, the Attorney General externship, and the IP externship. Dean Bravo-Weber earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law. Before joining Rutgers in July 2008, she had most recently been Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Community Relations at NYU Law School. |

ANITA WALTON, Assistant Dean for Admissions. Dean Walton is responsible for coordinating all admissions and recruitment for the law school and, in conjunction with Deans Bouchoux and Walker, reviews all applications for admission to Rutgers Law School. Her office is responsible for all communications with prospective students and applicants for admission, including transfer students seeking full and part-time admission as first-year students and students seeking to transfer to Rutgers Law School or attend as a visiting student enrolled at another law school. She received her M.B.A. from Suffolk University. |

RICHMAN, Assistant Dean for Career Services. Dean
Richman is responsiblefor all law school placement activities; she also conducts career and placement
counseling, seminars and workshops, and is responsible for coordinating on-campus interviews, maintenance
of the placement library and bulletin boards, and work-study assignments. She received her B.A. in philosophy from
Lehigh University, M.A. in philosophy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and her J.D. summa cum
laude from Temple University School of Law. |

KAREN FROMKES, Assistant Dean for Technology. Dean Fromkes oversees all aspects of administrative and instructional technology as well as secretarial support for faculty. She and her staff provide installation and maintenance of hardware and software in support of computing, printing, email and file service, audio-visual projection, and networking, as well as system administration and web hosting. She holds a B.S. from Cornell University, received her M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Management at Rutgers, and is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. |

NANCY ("NICKY") FORNAROTTO, Financial Aid Manager. Ms. Fornarotto serves as liaison with the University financial aid office, is responsible for financial advisement, and administers and awards scholarships and other funds including the Fannie Baer Besser Student Emergency Loan Fund. She also serves as the coordinator of the Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP). She received her B.A. degree from Douglass College. |

JANET DONOHUE, Manager of Public Relations. Ms. Donohue oversees media relations, publications -- including the coordination of website content, and certain special events. Her responsibilities include promoting events run by student organizations, such as panel discussions, symposia, etc., that are of potential interest to audiences outside the law school. She holds an M.A. from New York University. |
