Federal Work-Study Program (FWSP) employment may be offered as a portion of the financial aid award to U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens. Application for this program is made by filing the
FAFSA. Students in the law program may choose to work in the Rutgers School of Law–Newark, in the Law Library, in cooperating legal services offices off campus, or in other non-profit community service agencies. All jobs assigned through the FWSP are paid positions. Off-campus employment may be limited to returning students. Selection for a particular job is based on skills, job availability, university needs, and student preference. A completed Work-Study Job Application and an employment authorization form must be submitted to the Office of Financial Aid before employment can begin.
