Ronald K. Chen, Acting Dean, Distinguished Professor of Law, and Judge Leonard I. Garth Scholar
The Dean is responsible for the overall educational program and administration of the school. Much of his time and attention are devoted to liaison with the Newark Chancellor, the central University administration in New Brunswick, the Alumni Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association, and other key external groups and individuals.
Reid K. Weisbord, Vice Dean, Professor of Law, and Judge Norma L. Shapiro Scholar
Dean Weisbord oversees all academic and curricular affairs, establishes the academic schedule, supervises the Registrar, and serves as Secretary of the Faculty.
Jon Dubin, Associate Dean for Clinical Education, Professor of Law, and Alfred C. Clapp Public Service Scholar
Professor Dubin oversees the work of the law school’s in-house, live-client clinics.

Frances V. Bouchoux, Senior Associate Dean (on leave of absence)
Stuart L. Deutsch, University Professor (Acting Senior Associate Dean)
The Senior Associate Dean oversees all administrative functions relating to students. She supervises the Assistant Deans for Admissions, the Minority Student Program, Career Services, Student Services and Academic Services, as well as the Financial Aid Manager. Dean Bouchoux is primarily responsible for establishing policies and procedures with respect to admissions and career services activities.
John P. Joergensen, Associate Dean for Information Services, Professor of Law, and Director of the Law Library
Marie Melito, Associate Dean for Finance and Administration
Dean Melito is in charge of the law school’s business affairs. She also supervises the disbursement of funds and maintains payroll and other financial records.
Andrew L. Rossner, Associate Dean for Professional and Skills Education
Andrew J. Rothman, Associate Dean for Student Affairs
Dean Rothman is primarily responsible for student services, including but not limited to counseling, academic advisement, independent projects, and deferred examinations; non-academic student organizations; and orientation and graduation-related activities. In conjunction with Dean Weisbord, Dean Rothman is responsible for handling violations of the University Code of Student Conduct and handles questions about, or claims of, sexual or racial harassment. Students may, if they prefer, bring such questions or complaints to Assistant Dean Bravo-Weber. Dean Rothman oversees the accommodations made by the law school for students with disabilities. He serves as the clearinghouse for information and services for individual students. In addition, he is responsible for administrative duties that include the submission of reports to University central administration and other outside groups and agencies. Dean Rothman is also the Managing Attorney for the Rutgers Law Associates Fellowship Program.
Karen Fromkes, Associate Dean for Operations and Technology
Dean Fromkes oversees all aspects of administrative and instructional technology as well as secretarial support for faculty. She and her staff provide installation and maintenance of hardware and software in support of computing, printing, email and file service, audio-visual projection, and networking, as well as system administration and web hosting.
Yvette Bravo-Weber, Assistant Dean for the Minority Student Program and Externships
Dean Bravo-Weber is responsible for MSP orientation, the MSP summer internship program, and academic support program. She also is a member of the Admissions Committee and the MSP Committee, advises the Dean on minority legal issues, and serves as liaison to the minority bar associations and other external organizations. Dean Bravo-Weber also oversees the law school’s externship programs, including judicial externships, immigration law externships, the Attorney General externship, and the IP externship.
Linda Garbaccio, Assistant Dean for Academic Services
Dean Garbaccio serves as the Registrar of the law school and has primary responsibility for all academic record-keeping functions. She prepares registration materials and class rosters, records enrollment changes and grades, distributes examination numbers, certifies completion of degree and Bar requirements, and administers all non-take home examinations. She is responsible for course registration, grade recording, and student academic records.
Stephanie Richman, Assistant Dean for Career Services
Dean Richman is responsible for all law school placement activities. She also conducts career and placement counseling, seminars and workshops, and is responsible for coordinating on-campus interviews, maintenance of the placement library and bulletin boards, and work-study assignments
Anita Walton, Assistant Dean for Admissions
Dean Walton is responsible for coordinating all admissions and recruitment for the law school and, in conjunction with Dean Bravo-Weber and other members of the Admissions Committee, reviews all applications for admission to Rutgers Law School. Her office is responsible for all communications with prospective students and applicants for admission, including transfer students seeking full and part-time admission as first-year students and students seeking to transfer to Rutgers Law School or attend as a visiting student enrolled at another law school.
Ava Majlesi, Director of Development
Ms. Majlesi leads the school’s fundraising efforts and directs the staff of the Development Office.
Janet Donohue, Director of Communications
Ms. Donohue is responsible for media relations, marketing publications, web content, and certain special events and alumni relations functions. She works with faculty, administrators, and leaders of student journals and organizations to promote programs such as symposia, conferences, and panel discussions that are of potential interest to media and audiences outside the law school.
Nancy (“Nicky”) Fornarotto, Director of Law Student Financial Aid
Ms. Fornarotto serves as liaison with the University financial aid office, is responsible for financial advisement, and administers and awards scholarships and other funds including the Fannie Bear Besser Student Emergency Loan Fund. She also serves as administrator of the Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP).
