Professor Jones earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois and his M.P.A. from Harvard as a graduate of the John F. Kennedy School of Government, prior to which he was with the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. He joined the Rutgers faculty in 1970. He taught Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Civil Rights, Constitutional Law II, and Race Law Theory. His research and writing have focused on free speech and hate crime.
