Joint Degree Programs
Rutgers,
as the principal public research university of New Jersey, offers graduate
and professional degree programs in virtually every major academic discipline,
and the law faculty encourages interdisciplinary study offered by other
graduate units of the University that is coordinated with the Juris Doctor
program. At present, the following formal joint degree programs have
been approved:
Moreover,
it is possible, on a case-by-case basis, to coordinate a program of study
with many of the over 100 graduate degree programs offered by Rutgers at
the masters or doctoral level, with some of the credits earned in the other
degree program credited towards the Juris Doctor degree. In addition to the joint degree programs,
law students interested in international studies are eligible to enroll
in the Master of Science or the Doctor of Philosophy in Global Affairs program, offered by the Division
of Global Affairs, and specially designed for those who
have completed another professional degree. Also, the Law School and
the University of Medicine & Dentistry
of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School have agreed on a six year joint
M.D./J.D. program.
Students who do not seek
another graduate degree may nevertheless enroll in other graduate level
courses in subjects related to law and transfer up to six credits to the
Juris Doctor degree.
