John Bolton, Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, to Speak on April 20

April 11, 2011 – 

The Honorable John R. Bolton, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, will deliver a lecture titled “America’s Foreign Policy Challenges” at 5 pm on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at Rutgers School of Law–Newark. Sponsored by the Rutgers Federalist Society, the event is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is required at rutgersfederalistsociety@gmail.com

A diplomat and a lawyer, Bolton served as the country’s ambassador to the United Nations from August 2005 to December 2006. Before that he had been Under Secretary of State for arms control and international security. He is currently a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, where his area of research is U.S. foreign and national security policy. 

Ambassador Bolton earned his B.A. and J.D. at Yale. Before entering government service in 1981 as general counsel, U.S. Agency for International Development Education, he was an attorney at Covington & Burling LLP.
