The luncheon will be on Tuesday, May 17 in the Nathan H. Baker Moot Courtroom at the Center for Law and Justice at 123 Washington St. in Newark. Friday, May 27, 2016, 10 a.m. to noon
This year’s Rutgers Law School Commencement will be at 10 a.m. on May 27 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center at 1 Center St. in Newark. Graduates report to the law school at 8:30 a.m. in the lower atrium and line up by 9:40 a.m. along the stairwell for the procession to NJPAC. This year’s commencement speaker is Anthony D. Romero, Executive Director for the ACLU. An attorney with a history of public-interest activism, Romero has presided over the most successful membership growth in the ACLU's history and a large increase in national and affiliate staff.  The student speaker will be Schawn-Paul Rotella, vice chairman of the Moot Court Executive Board. At the conclusion of the ceremony, graduates and their guests are invited back to the law school for light refreshments. The building will remain open in the afternoon and guests are invited to tour the building. Guests are required to have tickets to attend the ceremony.
