The Rutgers University–Newark campus offers a variety of on-campus dining facilities, including the “Law and Justice Café,” located on the lower level of the Center for Law and Justice, which serves hot breakfast, sandwiches, homemade soups, grab and go salads, and snacks. Also available are a large selection of bottled beverages, self-service espresso drinks, and flavored coffees and tea. The Café’s hours while classes are in session are Monday – Thursday: 8:00 am – 8:00 pm, and Friday: 8:00 am – 2:00 pm. Also on campus are the Stonesby Commons and Eatery, the Robeson Food Court, the University Club, the Scarlet Lounge and Café, and (of course) Starbucks Coffee.
The University Heights section of Newark, and the nearby Ironbound section, offer a wide variety of dining options, including an array of ethnic cuisine. From pizza (Robert’s), or Thai (Hot C 2 House of Thai), or diner (Annabella’s Kitchen), or pub fare (McGovern’s), all across the street from CLJ, to the renowned Portuguese cuisine of the Ironbound, there are too many options for a comprehensive list to be provided here. Instead, visit these sites for a sampling:
An on-campus convenience store, the Raider Mart, is located on the Plaza Level of the Paul Robeson Student Center. In addition, a shuttle bus operates each weekday afternoon to supermarkets in nearby Kearny and Harrison.
