Law Library Expands Online Access to NJ Judicial Decisions

Members of the legal community and general public can now access several major collections of New Jersey court decisions and opinions directly from the homepage (http://law-library.rutgers.edu/) of the Rutgers School of Law–Newark law library.

“We are very pleased to host these important collections for the people of New Jersey,” said John P. Joergensen, Associate Dean for Information Services and Director of the Law Library. Joergensen joined the Rutgers–Newark law school in July from Rutgers–Camden, which previously hosted the collections.

Collections that will now be maintained by the Rutgers–Newark law library faculty and staff are:

  • New Jersey appeals, tax and selected trial court decisions: http://njlaw.rutgers.edu/collections/courts/
  • New Jersey Administrative Law Decisions: http://njlaw.rutgers.edu/collections/oal
  • New Jersey District Court Decisions: http://njlaw.rutgers.edu/collections/fed
  • New Jersey Attorney Ethics Advisory Opinions: http://njlaw.rutgers.edu/collections/ethics
  • New Jersey Attorney Disciplinary Decisions: http://njlaw.rutgers.edu/collections/drb
  • Older New Jersey School Law Decisions: http://njlaw.rutgers.edu/collections/sld

The library, housed in the Center for Law and Justice, is the most comprehensive public law library in New Jersey. In addition to the new collections, it provides numerous online guides to resources in several areas of law and legal research. The library also maintains extensive printed book collections, including primary sources and finding tools for federal law and the law of selected states, many major law journals, and many legal and law-related monographs. It also includes the Don M. Gottfredson Library of Criminal Justice, one of the leading collections in the world of crime and criminal justice materials.
