Rutgers President Robert Barchi to Deliver Lecture on Healthcare Reform and Medical Education on February 11

January 25, 2013 – 

Robert L. Barchi, President of Rutgers University, will deliver the 2013 Paul S. Miller Distinguished Lecture on Monday, February 11, 2013, at Rutgers–Newark. The topic of his lecture, which will begin at 6 pm, is “Healthcare Reform and Medical Education: The Way Forward.”

The lecture is sponsored by Rutgers School of Law–Newark and made possible by the generosity of Rutgers Law alumnus Paul S. Miller, Class of 1962, and his wife, Carol. Miller is special counsel at Kaye Scholer LLP and retired executive vice president and general counsel of Pfizer Inc.

President Barchi spent more than three decades on the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania. During his tenure at UPenn, he founded the Department of Neuroscience, directed the Mahoney Institute for Neurological Sciences, and served for five years as provost and chief academic officer. From 2004 to 2012, he served as president of Thomas Jefferson University, nationally regarded as a top university dedicated to health sciences education and research.
